Abstract

The development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to reach a wider market is often faced with challenges due to limitations in knowledge and promotional strategies. Most of the promotions carried out by MSME entrepreneurs are still limited to traditional methods, such as word-of-mouth, with customers primarily coming from the local community. In fact, the potential for MSME development can be maximized through the utilization of digital technology, such as Google Maps, which can serve as a more effective and efficient promotional tool for expanding product sales reach.
Based on this, the aim of this Community Service initiative is to provide branding assistance and entrepreneurship human resource education to MSME partners in optimizing the use of Google Maps as a promotional tool for their businesses. The assistance activities use a lecture method complemented by practical demonstrations to provide a comprehensive understanding of how to use Google Maps to digitally tag their business locations, along with theoretical education on entrepreneurship. The training was conducted from October 13 to 15, 2024, in Surakarta, with 5 participants, who are MSMEs from the area.
The results of this community service indicate a significant improvement in the MSME partners' ability to practice entrepreneurship and utilize Google Maps for promoting their businesses. This is reflected in the comparison between the pretest and posttest scores, showing an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in using the application. As an outcome of this activity, all participants successfully marked their business locations on Google Maps, making it easier for the wider community to find their businesses. The application of digital technologies like Google Maps, combined with entrepreneurship human resource education, has proven to positively impact MSME promotion and expand their market reach. With a better understanding of how to utilize technology, MSME entrepreneurs in the area are now better prepared to compete in a broader market and have the potential to enhance the sustainability of their businesses.
