Abstract

The attendance method in the Industry 4.0 era, where the Internet of Things (IoT) is commonly used, is still often carried out manually on paper sheets. This method is considered inefficient and time-consuming. This research aims to develop an attendance method that aligns with the advancements of Industry 4.0 by utilizing IoT technology. The device is designed using the ESP8266 as a development board and RFID as an input sensor. The attendance system is accessed through a website on a local network. The system is stored on a local server and then evaluated through testing of the device and website. The test results show that the overall system built can function properly. The IoT-based attendance system is considered capable of addressing the shortcomings of manual attendance systems by being more accurate, effective, and time-efficient. Additionally, the integration of IoT technology into the attendance system is expected to enhance data security, reduce human error, and enable real-time monitoring. This research is expected to serve as a model for future innovations in attendance systems and can be applied beyond the educational sector.
